At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, preschoolers won’t want to miss Disney Junior Live on Stage! This adorable stage show features whimsical scenery, catch songs and enchanting puppets to encourage preschoolers to sing, dance and play. When we saw the show at WDW it was a surprise birthday bash for Minnie Mouse’s birthday!
Disney Junior- Live on Stage!Mickey Mouse, Donald, Goofy and the rest of the gang were there to gather inspiration as they watch their Disney Junior pals collaborate to solve sticky situations:

Sofia the First: The princess-in-training enlists the help of sorcerer Mr. Cedric in casting a spell to make her father’s royal ball a sparkling success. Along with Amber and James, they learn that, together, there’s nothing they can’t do!
Sofia the FirstDoc McStuffins: After some strenuous dance floor moves, Lambie comes down with a case of “the rippies.” Stuffy the dragon, Hallie the Hippo and friends gather in Doc’s office to cheer her up, resulting in a ton of bubbly fun.

Doc McStuffins Jake and the Never Land Pirates: When Captain Hook steals their treasure chest, Jake and his crew embark on an adventure to take back their booty with the help of friends in high places. Yo ho, way to go!

We decided to bring the high-spirited performance from Disney Junior Live on Stage to life at home by creating puppets to put on a show! We first colored in the Disney Junior puppet print-outs, then cut out all the pieces, attached the pieces to paper bags with Alene’s Tacky Glue, and decorated the bags with markers and Tulip Puffy Paint.

Jake and Mickey puppetNow that the puppets are made, we set up a stage using random things found around the house. The curtains are superhero capes, and the stage is an old baby play center placed upside-down.

Disney Kids Live on Stage puppet showCuteness overload in the video below- When Jake gets lost in the desert, Mickey comes to help him with some water, but when water is not enough they need to call for the doctor, “Doc” McStuffins, who makes them feel better and brings them to Sophia’s castle to recuperate. All in the imagination of a two and five year old.
