I spent the afternoon with my son, and we explored Central Park. These photo were taken from his favorite playground, Heckscher, the oldest playground in Central Park. Heckscher Playground was created in 1927, and is the largest in Central Park, at 1.8 acres. It includes a great variety of play features and spaces.

Heckscher Playground includes

  • A shaded area with swings and slides.
  • Large multi-use area comprised of synthetic turf and safety surfacing.
  • Huge maze-like castle climber, that gives easy access to the ancient bedrock, Umpire Rock.
  • Water feature with tunnels, ramps and slides.
  • Bathrooms
