If you live in New York City you might have noticed the “Big Eggs” popping up around the city these past few days. This 17-day long egg hunt is sponsored by Fabergé and there are more than 200 giant eggs placed in various locations throughout the five NYC boroughs.
The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt is 100% charitable, working to raise funds for two special causes. Studio in a School (www.studioinaschool.org) is one of New York’s most respected children’s non-profits, bringing visual arts and professional artists to more than 150 New York public schools each year. The second cause benefiting is Elephant Family (www.elephantfamily.org) as they continue to race against the clock to save the endangered Asian elephant from extinction. If you can’t afford to bid on a full size egg, there are pop-up-shops throughout the city selling mini souvenir eggs and a web page shop to browse, if you are not in the city.
Designed by renowned artists, photographers, architects, designers and brands, the eggs are a sight to be seen. Here are the small percentage of eggs I have hunted for so far.
Happy hunting! What egg is your favorite so far?
