Three day weekends in NYC are great when the weather is nice. However, this upcoming Martin Luther King three day weekend it is going to be COLD, with snow on Saturday and temperatures in the teens on Monday. So, I recommend you bundle the kids up, get out of your home and go to the theater! This weekend only, for a special 3 day 5 performance, Still Awake Still! will be at The New Victory Theater!
The New Victory Theater Presents
Jump Leads & Jessica Wilson’s
Cabaret for Kids Hits Manhattan
U.S. Premiere January 18 – 20, 2014
With a wild mix of music, comedy and visual theater, Still Awake Still! is a fabulously entertaining cabaret for kids making its U.S. premiere at The New Victory Theater from January 18-20, 2014. Based on the much-loved songs from the children’s bedtime book I’m Still Awake, Still! by author Elizabeth Honey and composer Sue Johnson, Still Awake Still! was commissioned by the Sydney Opera House and premiered at the Arts Centre Melbourne.
Getting kids to sleep can be a challenging daily ritual, but not for Miss Ivory Tinklefinger! With nothing but a great, grand piano and her sweet singing voice, the famous Queen of Sleep can calm the rowdiest of children. But one day – much to her dismay and to the audience’s delight – her piano produces more than just notes!
If you can’t make it to The New Victory Theater you can try these fun Still Awake Still! family activities at home, I especially like the Playing with Onomatopoeia one.
