The Fremont Troll is located in the Seattle neighborhood of Fremont. This public art sculpture is located under the north end of the George Washington Memorial Bridge on North 36th Street at Troll Avenue. The Troll was created by four local artists in 1990 with the goal of cleaning up the area under the bridge.

It is encouraged to climb all over the troll and try to poke out his hubcap eye. H was a bit apprehensive at first, but with a bit of encouragement and me carrying and lifting him around the sculpture he soon became less afraid.

Fremont Troll profile

The idea of a troll living under a bridge is derived from the Scandinavian fairytale Three Billy Goats Gruff. I am happy to report that the troll did not gobble H up!
