Grug began his life as the top of a Burrawang tree, he is a hairy, brown and yellow striped character who was the main character of a book series written by Australian author, Ted Prior between 1979 and 1992. Even if you are not familiar with the Grug stories your kid will instantly grow fond of him and his friends, Cara the snake and Wormy the worm, in this adorable new puppet performance playing at The New Victory Theater in New York City.
Grug is recommended for ages 2-5 and is 45 min long with no intermission, the show also includes time to meet Grug his friends and to explore his cramped burrow home. I loved the interactive nature of live theater to encourage learning for H.
H sat in awe for the whole show, he was intrigued as to what Grug was going to receive next in his multiple parcels. He even stood up, to boogie down and party the Grug-style dance (he could not wait to show Dad the dance when he got home)!
Make sure to get there early because there are family activities to engage in before the show. Grug with be at The New Victory Theater now through March 17, 2013.
