Bars are not really places for kids but beer gardens in New York City are an exception, especially in the summertime. This past weekend we took H to the Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden in Astoria, Queens (this place has been around for over 100 years) and we had a blast! Kids just have to be out of the garden bar area by 9pm so that was not an issue for us because H goes to bed before then.

A live band Rocky and The Pressers was playing contemporary reggae music and the kids were dancing and running around to the chill music.

Besides Live music on most Saturdays the Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden has Sunday Funday for Kids in the garden, from 2-4 with face painting, cotton candy, balloon animals and a clown. However, next Sunday, August 26, 2012 is the last one for this summer so make this a plan if you don’t want to miss out.

It is great to find an adult place in New York City that welcomes kids. We can’t wait to go back again maybe have H’s second birthday party here?

Have you found a place that is also welcoming to kids in your neighborhood?
