H was 10 weeks old when I took him to his first class at Apple Seeds NYC. I was a first time mom in a new big city, life was a bit stressful and I had no clue what I was doing. When I discovered Apple Seeds NYC I was excited to have found a place where I could meet other new moms and find activities to keep H busy outside of the apartment. Apple Seeds NYC recommend that H and I take the developmental movement class taught by Dionne Kamara this class is for babies 8 wks to walking. I loved the developmental movement class and the bonding opportunities H and I had together through music and movement (I still catch myself singing those cute songs to him).
Once H outgrew the developmental movement class I signed him up for Apple Seeds NYC original rocking music program Songs for Seeds (Named “Best Music Class” by New York Magazine 2010)! H loves Songs for Seeds and so do I (it is hard to find a class that I enjoy going to also), this class is the highlight of his week and he is singing and dancing the second class starts. My favorite part about Songs for Seeds is H gets introduced to many different instruments from around the world. Check out H playing the drums! Do you think he has a future in drumming?
Apple Seeds NYC also has a great indoor play space designed to feel like a children’s museum it has a mini NYC apartment with slide, NYC taxi cab, Apple Seeds Deli featuring play foods, Lego table, Soft play area and much much more. Apple Seeds NYC indoor playground is perfect for H on those hot summer afternoons and freezing winter mornings. I love the space because it is safe, clean, contained and perfect to meet other mothers for play-dates!
Recently Apple Seeds NYC opened a new location in the Upper West Side and this new location offers many of the same amazing classes and indoor playground for more families in New York City to enjoy! H and I went up there a few weeks ago to check out the new Apple Seeds NYC space and try out the my Chelsea art opening class. H had a blast experimenting with all different forms of art mediums and created his first masterpiece! He was the cleanest at the end of the class though. I plan to sign him up for this Apple Seeds NYC art class in the fall and I am excited check out his completed portfolio at the end of the semester.
